Canadian Wood Seminar 2025
2025
The Canadian Wood Seminar 2025 brought together architects, engineers, and construction professionals to explore the expanding potential of engineered and mass timber in the Indian built environment. Rajendrasinh Pardeshi represented Rushabh Consultancy at the seminar, held as part of an ongoing initiative by the Canadian Wood Council to promote sustainable forestry and timber construction practices across South Asia.
Sessions covered cross-laminated timber (CLT), glulam structural systems, and fire-rated mass timber assemblies — all topics of direct relevance to a practice engaged in sustainable design. The seminar provided a platform to understand how Canadian forestry standards and chain-of-custody certification translate into real-world specification decisions on Indian projects.
The event also included live demonstrations of timber joinery systems and panel presentations by architects who have delivered mass timber buildings in India's hot-dry climate. For Rushabh Consultancy, the seminar reinforced the value of material honesty and the growing case for responsibly sourced wood as a low-carbon structural and finish material in contemporary Indian architecture.
